| FiddleFest 2007
This years fiddle fest was probably the best ever. Seems like I hear that every year from someone. That's a good thing. The Byron Berline Band began the evening with Byron and Greg Burgess twin fiddling a few numbers. Some of Greg's students Stephanie Banta and Jo Sands came up and played a few tunes. The Pendelton Girls from Tulsa area were a big hit. They were recently on Good Morning America TV show. To end the first set was everyone's favorite Buster and Betty Jenkins. Buster has been to all of our fiddle fest's.and has never told the same joke. He comes up with some good ones.
The second set started with The Hunt Family. Most of you know the Hunt boys Andrew and Johnathon. Their Mom and Dad also joined them with a great set of fiddle and bluegrass music. Since this was a fiddle fest Johnathon who normally plays the banjo played the fiddle also. I do not think he was all that happy about that but I thought he did a good job. The Hunt family always do a good job. Making their first appearance was The Jimmy Giles trio which included a wonderful accordian and bass player. Their Gypsie music was fun and entertaining with alot of energy. Jake Simpson made his debut here at the fiddle fest. He is a fine young fiddler with a great personality. Everybody seemed to really enjoy Jake.
To round out the evening Byron and the boys played a couple of more tunes before inviting all of the performers on stage for Faded Love and Orange Blossom Special. I thought it was a special evening of fiddling so try and make it next year.
