Howdy Folks! Finally the ice and snow have stopped! We all knew it would sooner or later; probably the coldest, strangest winter we have had in many years. Now welcome to pretty flowers, greener grass and some warmer weather. We hope all is well with you and that we see a lot of you in the weeks to come.
FLASH NEWS! We have a new member of our family. Becca, our daughter, gave birth March 14th to our first grandchild, Brighton O'Connor. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz; both mom and baby doing great. Becca and Colin are proud parents; Bette and I are pretty proud too.
There are a lot of fun things coming up. The band will be in Guthrie's 89er Day parade April 24th as Grand Marshalls, representing this year's theme of Territorial Entertainers.
Saturday, May 8th is our
Western Swing show and dance at the Logan Co. Fairgrounds here in Guthrie. Put on your dancin' shoes and get ready for a good time. Leon Rausch will be with us again, along with the three fiddlers and many other great musicians. It's always a fun time for everyone!
The Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival is looking good for this year. Larry Gatlin will headline Saturday night's show; other special groups are the Kruger Brothers, Special Consensus and Bill Emerson's band. We have extended our early bird ticket deadline to June 1st; you will want to take advantage of that. Check on the website for the list of artists and all the information you need to know:
www.oibf.com .
Our band is doing well --- we have been doing some recording in the evenings. Perhaps we'll have something to release later this year or early in 2011. As always, we schedule our Music Hall shows about every other Saturday. You will find dates for the upcoming 4 months a little further on this page. The discount tickets continue as always, with 7 shows in this next session.
We now have the capability to put our shows on DVDs for anyone who requests them. If you have friends or family who enjoy our brand of music but live too far to come regularly, or if you are particularly fond of one of our shows and would enjoy seeing it over again, we would be happy to make DVD copies for you.
Check out our Out & About schedule and see if your or your distant friends and family would like to make one of our away shows. We always enjoy seeing our friends when we're away from home!
Be sure and drop by the shop to see some of our nice instruments, or just to say hello. You never know who will be in here jamming!
DISCOUNT TICKETSWe are continuing our offer for bargain tickets, 7 shows for $66.00 ($132 per couple).
