Newsletter May - August 2018
Spring is in the air --- or is it? we're finally getting some green grass to go with our bluegrass! Ha! We're hoping this finds all of you in good spirits. The band is working on a new CD, mostly live recordings from the Music Hall where our audiences get lots of credit. We're having fun putting it together and are certain you will enjoy it, too.

We are looking forward to our annual Western Swing show, May 12th. We'll have a full band of great pickers and Leon said he is going to try to make it. 90 years old and still singing great! This year's Western Swing will be held at the Community Church, I-35 and Seward Road, south of Guthrie. 7:30pm & $15 It's always a crowd pleaser.

The Oklahoma's International Bluegrass Festival just held it's first endowment fund raiser at the Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie. Everyone had a good time and I think we raised some money to keep us going, but it is never too late to donate to our foundation. We want to insure the festival can be here years from now. OIBF is a non-profit organization so all donations are tax deductible.

Speaking of the festival: our dates this year are Oct. 4 - 6. Tommy Emmanuel will headline Saturday's artists; the Kruger Brothers are returning as is April Verch, the dancing Canadian fiddler, as well as lots of other new acts. You can get your tickets early and save a few dollars by going to for more information.

We hope you can make it to some of our concerts at the Music Hall. We always have lots of fun, plus plenty of sweet bites with Lynn Burgess' homemade pies! Call the shop (405-282-6646) or go to our website ( to check our dates.
